Peter Coons brings 18 years of experience in the legal technology field to his position as Senior Vice President. In this role, he is responsible for D4’s Technical Advisory and Professional Consulting Groups, which provide a wide range of litigation and technical expertise and guidance to clients navigating all phases of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
Peter’s extensive background – including computer forensics, social media discovery, and engineering eDiscovery workflow for law firms and corporations – has led him to a number of exciting positions throughout his career. In addition to roles in which he orchestrated large-scale electronic data collections relating to litigation, audits, and regulatory requests, Peter has also testified as an expert witness in computer forensics on both state and federal courts.
Before co-founding D4 with John Holland, Peter was a senior associate with Baker Robbins & Company, a New York- based technology consulting firm. While managing the company’s New York digital forensics practice, he led the team responsible for collecting ESI from New York agencies in response to the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.
Peter holds a master’s degree in digital forensics management from Champlain College, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from SUNY Oneonta. With so much experience in digital forensics and the legal technology sector, Peter’s technical and legal skills and knowledge are invaluable to D4 and to our clients.
